Back in the summer of 2013, I had firmly decided to become a wedding photographer. It was a scary jump as I felt I would never want to take on that responsibility but opportunity came knocking and I answered. A friend of mine told me of a fellow photographer who was also looking to break into the wedding photography business and asked if I would be interested in meeting her. I was frightened as I had never intended on working with someone else, let alone mentoring someone else, but opportunity knocked and I answered again.
Quite literally the best connection I made in this wild photography world.
Because that day began the mentorship, the relationship, the-partnership-in-gestation, but most of all the friendship between Laura Napoli and me. Since then, her progress and improvement has been exponential and she makes me weep in joy when I see where she is now, an established wedding photographer who has worked with veritably every South Jersey industry leading wedding photographer; she was even chosen out of the masses to be an associate photographer for a leading photography studio. Based on her rate of growth, I can't even imagine where she will be in another three years.
She is my absolutely favorite person to have by my side on those long wedding days and every single bride and groom I have worked with has told me that their experience with me was only heightened by the addition of Laura. She is outstanding in every sense of the word.
And this day, I got to return the favor. I got to second shoot for HER.
The Jedi has become the Master.
