I have been getting a number of comments about my blogposts lately, mostly in relation to the depth that I go into for each family. I have to admit, as cheesy as it sounds (and this is really really cheddar), it's easy for me to share the emotions that I genuinely feel for these families. Portrait and Wedding Photography is so much more than just pressing a shutter button or sitting behind a computer editing. It is all about documenting life. It's about getting to know people on such a deep and personal level and letting that bond come through my camera as I document their most cherished memories for all eternity.
Oh my gosh, now we've entered limburger cheese territory with that last statement. I even inadvertently rolled my eyes as I typed it. But it's true! Cheesy goodness and all.
You will most likely remember this couple from their absolutely gorgeous engagement session and will understand my excitement that this day had finally come. These two people whom I had fallen in love with so many months ago at a Starbucks not too far from my home, made their love eternal.
You will see from these pictures WHY I love them so. You'll pretty easily see why I love this bride. She is so much like me: sweet, caring, loving, devastatingly gorgeous, unendingly modest. But what I love most about her is that even though this is her day to be a princess, she still holds true to her self; most specifically, her generous spirit. She did not try to hide her exuberant joy, she shared it with all those lucky enough to be present for this most spectacular day. Her joy became our joy. She made sure that every person there was having as good as time as she was, myself included. I mean, what bride do you know of who will belt out "It's Raining Men" at her wedding for the sole pleasure of her guests?
I know, right?
But behind that devastatingly gorgeous and vocally impressive petite princess is a man who is not as exuberant with his emotions (or his love for my camera in his face), but whose love for his bride was so overpowering, so enveloping of his persona, he could not help but let his emotions flow as he spoke about her in front of his loved ones. I wish everyone could have heard the most extraordinarily heartfelt vows he wrote to her. To hear him choke up when he spoke of her beauty. To hear the excitement in his voice as he envisioned this woman one day mothering his children. To feel his love literally press up on us, the lucky few who got to witness this most powerful bond. I so wish everyone reading this could have been there. It was epic. To see the infinite adoration in his eyes when he looks at her, talks about her, writes about her, or dances up on her, it was truly truly a great day that once again reminded me what is so wonderful about this life.
And let me tell you, if you're wedding shopping, you have to check out the Running Deer Country Club. Not because the grounds are beautiful, nor because the staff is super attentive, nor because the fact that it's owned by Ron Jaworski means you're that much closer in degrees of separation to Jon Bon Jovi.
No, the reason you need to consider them for your wedding is because of two words: Chocolate Room.
Yes, a chocolate ROOM. When I heard that, I had no idea what was in store. All I can say is....well, I can't say much because if I do, I may accidentally out the fact that right before I left, I may have sort of kind of possibly pocketed five pounds of chocolately goodness in my camera bag.
No, not really. I'm just making that up.
It was three pounds.
Thank you to the amazing Marisa McGovern for lending your amazing talents as the second photographer. You're worth your weight in chocolate! <3
And now, may I present...the chocolate room, I MEAN, the happy couple. And the chocolate room.
