Many people who read my blogposts don't know me personally, so I rely on my writing to help people get to know me. Let me start by saying this.
I am smrt. I mean, real smrt. I am so smrt that when this goregous cuple wanted to have there pitchers taken, I thought of no better plase then my alma matter, Princeton University.
Oh wait! That's not right! I am not exactly the dullest knife in the box but I surely can't call myself a former Tiger (although I am a former Lion from a fellow NJ school...so does that make me smart by proxy)?
But seriously, when we decided that Princeton University's devastatingly beautiful campus would serve as our backdrop, I was equal parts delirious and nervous. I dare anyone to walk on that campus and not feel its magnitude. Especially, someone like me. Someone who trips over a gust of air and tries to make engaged couples forget that they're the center of my attention by dropping the occasional unsavory off-color joke. All this goofiness juxtaposed against some of the greatest minds and greatest architecture of our country...well, it's a bit intimidating.
But thankfully, I have no shame. While I reverently genuflected at the hallowed halls that gave us Woodrow Wilson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Michelle Obama, and Dean Cain, I still did not let it distract me from my one true purpose: to capture the love and devotion of this absolutely astoundingly amazing couple, no matter how many inappropriate jokes I had to make to achieve that end. This couple, who pretended to be "unphotogenic", lied about their "lack of knowledge of how to look good on camera" and basically worked me from the moment met up on Nassau Street, gave me one of the best photographic experiences to date. It's really hard to impart the feeling I get when I see a beautiful couple, who love each other so dearly, and I get to photograph them so they'll have memories to share for generations! I mean, truly. This is as good as it gets.
Oh wait....I get to photograph their wedding, too.
This is as good as it gets...so far.
