Everyone who has ever taken a basic chemistry class knows that when certain elements are combined, you get a totally different element.
Hmmm..apparently, I did not do well in chemistry.
Maybe I don't know the proper verbiage but I do know chemistry when I see it and this night, I got to see the coming together of two beings into one spectacular element.
Or compound. Whatever.
Once again, I was called upon with the great honor of documenting the wedding of someone whose family is vitally important to me. As you look through the pictures, I am sure you will see the love that flowed through my camera as I captured the wedding of my children's best friends' aunt and uncle. It's possible that their mother is sort of important to me, too, but I digress.
There is nothing I love more than to capture the loving moments of those I love. I knew I was going to thoroughly enjoy documenting the joy and exuberance of this couple and their families, since they mean so much to me, but I did not expect to be so moved by the chemistry of the bride and groom.
Having known the bride for years, I know how much the groom has affected her as a person. Meeting him and falling in love with him was definitely a watershed moment for her. It is like she was a totally different person before she met him. And now? I can sum it up in one word.
Happy.
This groom has made this bride more happy than any person she has ever encountered and it is so clear to see in the way they gravitate towards each other, the way they get lost in each other when they physically connect, the way both their eyes twinkle like they-have-a-secret-which-no-one-knows-except-everyone-knows: they are devastatingly in love
And not for nothing, but I had to travel over two hundred miles round-trip, to be here for this moment. That would be noteworthy, except the groom's family had to travel a little farther and a little longer. While I made the long trek from South Jersey to North Jersey, they made the slightly longer trek to North Jersey...
from Korea.
The groom's family came all the way from South Korea to be here for him. To witness his personal watershed moment when he makes his love eternal with his bride. From the looks on their faces, it was worth every mile.
